COAST­GUARDS FOIL BIRD SMUG­GLING AT­TEMPT

Coast­guards foiled two at­tempts to smug­gle 10 birds of prey and 101 houbara bus­tards via the sea. A boat was spot­ted south of Boubyan Is­land, so it was fol­lowed and stopped. Two cit­i­zens were found on­board, and two bags were found con­tain­ing eight birds of prey and 80 houbaras. The se­cond haul was dis­cov­ered when boats ar­riv­ing into the coun­try were searched and 21 houbaras and two birds of prey were found. The sus­pects and birds were sent to con­cerned author­i­ties.

Traf­fic cam­paign

Traf­fic de­tec­tives car­ried out sur­prise cam­paigns against ATVs in­clud­ing many vi­tal roads, re­sult­ing in de­tain­ing a per­son at the traf­fic de­ten­tion cell and send­ing an­other to the ju­ve­nile pros­e­cu­tion. Two ATVs and 26 mo­tor­cy­cles were im­pounded.

Ac­ci­dents

A car ac­ci­dent in Boubyan Is­land left a man in­jured in the head and other parts of his body. He was trans­ferred to hospi­tal by med­vac. Mean­while, five peo­ple were in­jured in an ac­ci­dent re­ported on Wafra Road. They were trans­ferred to Adan Hospi­tal.

Far­waniya Municipality branch car­ried out a cam­paign to re­move en­croach­ments on state prop­erty near Sev­enth Ring Road, un­der di­rect su­per­vi­sion from Kuwait Municipality’s Di­rec­tor Gen­eral Ah­mad Al-Man­fouhi. A state­ment by the Pub­lic Re­la­tions Depart­ment said that municipality work­ers re­moved vi­o­la­tions set up by a com­pany on state prop­erty il­le­gally, which cov­ered an area of around 83,964 square me­ters.
