Al-Saad Fund or­ga­nizes women em­pow­er­ment cour­ses

KUWAIT: Al-Saad Fund for Knowl­edge and Sci­en­tific Re­search or­ga­nizes cour­ses that aim at em­pow­er­ing women and en­abling them to as­sume lead­ing po­si­tions in both po­lit­i­cal and so­cial ac­tiv­i­ties. Speak­ing to re­porters yes­ter­day dur­ing an event to launch the first train­ing course for fe­male teach­ers in in­ter­me­di­ate schools, Sheikha Fadya Al-Saad Al-Sabah, the fund’s Board Chair­per­son, said that the fund tar­gets cre­at­ing a gen­er­a­tion that would help de­velop Kuwait. She added that the train­ing cour­ses or­ga­nized through the Ibtikar AlKuwait ini­tia­tive al­lows pub­lic school girls to con­duct sci­en­tific projects and re­searches, which con­trib­ute to de­vel­op­ing both teach­ers and stu­dents’ skills and per­for­mance.

Sheikha Fadya added that the ini­tia­tive also sup­ports the Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion’s new cur­ricu­lums, which fo­cus on de­vel­op­ing stu­dents’ life skills and en­hanc­ing their creativ­ity at the hands of ex­pert ed­u­ca­tion­ists from Kuwait and abroad.

Mean­while, the ini­tia­tive’s di­rec­tor Dr Fa­tima Al-Hashim sec­onded Sheikha Fadya’s state­ments, say­ing that the cour­ses taught in the ini­tia­tive sup­port the cur­ricu­lums taught in schools, fur­ther ex­plain­ing that course or­ga­nized for in­ter­me­di­ate schools fo­cus on re­cy­cling elec­tron­ics with the aim of pro­tect­ing the en­vi­ron­ment. She also noted that the course de­signed for sec­ondary school stu­dents fo­cuses on ap­ply­ing science, math, ge­om­e­try and tech­nol­ogy in prac­tice. —KUNA
