Kuwait launches campaign to aid displaced in Syria
Kuwait’s Al-Rahma (mercy) International Association sent yesterday 62 trucks carrying aid to those in need inside Syria, through the Turkish city of Hatay. This is Al-Rahma’s biggest-ever humanitarian aid inside Syria, aiming to ease the suffering of Syrians during extremely cold weather, said the organization’s Secretary General Yahya Al-Aqeeli in a press conference.
The aid includes food, blankets, clothing, coal, mattresses and heaters for over 10,000 Syrian families, he added. AlRahma has provided over $57 million worth of aid since the outbreak of the Syrian crisis, said the official. The organization is also funding schools, water distillation project, and psychiatric treatments programs for Syrian refugees, he noted. — KUNA
