ICSK to host mega arts fest for In­dian schools

The In­dian Com­mu­nity School, Kuwait is or­ga­niz­ing the first-ever mega arts fest for the stu­dents of all the In­dian schools in Kuwait on 1st & 2nd De­cem­ber, 2016. Around 2,000 stu­dents will take part in this grand event ti­tled ‘In­dian Schools’ Mega Arts Fest’ with 80 dif­fer­ent items for com­pe­ti­tion which will be or­ga­nized on 6 stages at three venues (ICSKS Se­nior, Am­man and Ju­nior) in the two days from 8 am to 8 pm.

The In­au­gu­ral cer­e­mony will be held on Thurs­day, 1st De­cem­ber at 8 am at ICSK Se­nior. Along with this, teacher rep­re­sen­ta­tives (Prin­ci­pals) of all the In­dian schools will be rec­og­nized. Am­bas­sador of Bri­tain to Kuwait Matthew James Lodge will at­tend the event as the chief guest. Sudha Chan­dran (film ac­tress and dancer) will at­tend as guest of honor while Maryam Ab­dul Rah­man Dashti, de­part­ment of Mid­dle and High School, Min­istry of Pri­vate Ed­u­ca­tion), will grace the oc­ca­sion as spe­cial guest.

The vale­dic­tory cer­e­mony and prize dis­tri­bu­tion will be held on Fri­day, 2nd De­cem­ber 2016 at 6 pm at ICSK Se­nior. In­dian Am­bas­sador Sunil Jain will be chief guest of the event Os­car Award win­ner Padma Shri Dr Re­sul Pookutty will be the guest of honor who will give away more than 600 prizes to all the win­ners. A mu­si­cal con­cert by Stephen Devassy will also pre­sented. This spec­tac­u­lar cul­tural show, a his­toric event in the his­tory of In­dian schools in the coun­try, is go­ing to be or­ga­nized for the first time in the Mid­dle East Re­gion and Kuwait with such a large num­ber of items for com­pe­ti­tion. This spec­tac­u­lar event aims at find­ing the best tal­ents in Kuwait.

An­nounc­ing the event at press con­fer­ence, held at ICSK Se­nior branch on Sun­day evening, Dr V Binu­mon, Prin­ci­pal and Gen­eral Con­venor of the In­dian Schools’ Mega Arts Fest 2016 said, “The aim of In­dian Schools’ Mega Arts Fest is to pro­vide a plat­form to show­case the artis­tic flair of the budding tal­ents be­long­ing to the In­dian di­as­pora. Stu­dents from KG to Class 12 will take part in this mega fes­ti­val,” he said.

Regis­tra­tion for this event is strictly re­stricted through school as only the best from each school is go­ing to com­pete in this. Com­pe­ti­tions will be held in five cat­e­gories-Cat I( Classes LKG, UKG & 1),Cat II(Classes 2, 3 & 4),Cat III- (Classes 5, 6 & 7,Cat IV ( Classes 8, 9 & 10) & Cat V( Classes 11 & 12). The re­sult of each com­pe­ti­tion will be de­clared within 15 minutes of the com­ple­tion of the event, he added. In each cat­e­gory the best per­form­ers will be con­ferred the ti­tle of ‘Kalaprathibha’ (male) and ‘Kalathi­lak’ (fe­male), awarded 1/2 sovereign gold.
