MoI com­mends se­cu­rity co­op­er­a­tion with Iraq

In­te­rior Min­istry’s Un­der­sec­re­tary Lt Gen Suleiman Al-Fa­had praised yes­ter­day the joint se­cu­rity co­op­er­a­tion be­tween Kuwait and Iraq un­der deep and solid bi­lat­eral ties. Fa­had made his re­marks af­ter meet­ing with the vis­it­ing Head of Iraqi Bor­der Forces Com­mand Hamid Ibrahim and his ac­com­pa­ny­ing del­e­ga­tion, stress­ing the im­por­tance of joint and reg­u­lar meet­ings in boost­ing mutual co­or­di­na­tion, MoI said in a state­ment.

Such meet­ings also aim at over­com­ing ob­sta­cles and dif­fi­cul­ties that hin­der ways of co­op­er­a­tion be­tween the two sides, in ad­di­tion to en­hanc­ing the se­cu­rity readi­ness levels in both coun­tries in light of cur­rent se­cu­rity de­vel­op­ments in the region, he said.

Fa­had con­veyed to the vis­it­ing Iraqi del­e­ga­tion greet­ings of Deputy Prime Min­is­ter and In­te­rior Min­is­ter Sheikh Mo­ham­mad Al-Khaled Al-Ha­mad Al-Sabah, point­ing out the dis­tinc­tive Kuwaiti-Iraqi re­la­tions. Mean­while, Ibrahim ex­pressed his grat­i­tude and ap­pre­ci­a­tion of Kuwait for the gen­eros­ity and well­re­cep­tion they re­ceived while in the coun­try, and the friendly-co­op­er­a­tion at­mos­phere that Kuwaiti of­fi­cials pro­vided for the vis­it­ing guests. — KUNA
