Amir participates in GCC Summit in Manama
His Highness meets UK PM
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah attended yesterday the 37th Session of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit, which kicked off in the Bahraini capital, Manama. Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamin bin Hamad Al Thani, UAE VicePresident, Prime Minister and Dubai Governor Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashed Al Maktoum and Omani Deputy Prime Minister Fahad bin Mahmoud Al Said also attended.
Earlier yesterday, His Highness the Amir received British Prime Minister Theresa May, yesterday at his place of residence in the capital Manama. During the meeting, His Highness the Amir and the British premier discussed bilateral ties, issues of common interest, and the latest developments in the region.
The meeting was attended by Frist Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled AlHamad Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister, Finance Minister and Acting Oil Minister Anas Khaled Al-Saleh and members of the accompanying delegation.
Upon his arrival to Bahrain earlier yesterday, His Highness the Amir was received at the airport by King Hamad, as well as Bahraini Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, and Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa. He was also received by senior Royals, Shura and Representatives’ Council’s chairmen, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)’s Secretary General, ministers, and ambassadors of the two countries.
Upon departure from Kuwait, His Highness the Amir was seen off at the airport by His Highness the Deputy Amir and Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, senior Sheikhs, Deputy Chief of Kuwait National Guard (KNG) Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad AlSabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber AlMubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Minister of the Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, senior staff at the Kuwaiti army, police, KNG, and Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD).
His Highness the Amir heads a delegation consisting of Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled, Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah, Anas Al-Saleh, Head of His Highness the Amir office Ahmad Fahad Al-Fahad, Amiri Diwan Advisor Mohammad Abulhassan, head of the Amiri Protocols Sheikh Khaled Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah Al-Nasser Al-Sabah, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Khaled AlJarallah, in addition to other senior officials from the Amiri Diwan and Foreign Ministry. —KUNA
