Chal­lenges against elec­tion results in­crease

The to­tal num­ber of con­tests against the elec­tion results rose to 30 yes­ter­day, the last day of the win­dow granted to can­di­dates to file com­plaints at the con­sti­tu­tional court. For­mer MPs Bader Al-Da­houm and Fares Al-Otaibi were among those who filed the con­tests. On his Twit­ter ac­count, Otaibi stressed that he filed a plea mo­ti­vated by the per­sis­tence of his con­stituents and cam­paign staff mem­bers, and claimed that the results were mis­counted.

Car on fire

Four Arab ex­pats es­caped death when their ve­hi­cle burst into flames yes­ter­day on the Fifth Ring Road. Se­cu­rity sources said fire­men rushed to the scene and con­trolled the blaze. No in­juries were re­ported. Mean­while, an in­ves­ti­ga­tion was opened to de­ter­mine the cause of the fire.
