KRCS launches cam­paign today to aid Aleppo

KUWAIT: Kuwait Red Cres­cent So­ci­ety (KRCS) has an­nounced the launch of a cam­paign to col­lect do­na­tions for Syr­i­ans at the so­ci­ety’s head­quar­ters today. The five-day cam­paign aims to ease the suf­fer­ing of Syr­i­ans af­fected by the on­go­ing war in Aleppo, es­pe­cially in such ex­treme weather con­di­tions, KRCS’ Deputy Chair­man An­war Al-Ha­sawi an­nounced yes­ter­day.

The num­ber of dis­placed Syr­i­ans in Aleppo is ris­ing, said Ha­sawi, ad­ding that the so­ci­ety aims to col­lect $1 mil­lion to cover food and win­ter cloth­ing needs. Ha­sawi called on the pri­vate sec­tor and phi­lan­thropists to take part in aid­ing Syr­i­ans who are fac­ing a hu­man­i­tar­ian dis­as­ter.

Do­na­tions will be re­ceived from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the KRCS head­quar­ters, the of­fi­cial noted. He added that there will also be a dona­tion booth at 360 Mall start­ing to­mor­row from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, as well as through the KRCS’ of­fi­cial web­site. —

The cam­paign’s poster show­ing in­for­ma­tion in­clud­ing the bank ac­count num­ber, web­site and hot­line through which do­na­tions can be made.
