A blaze that erupted at the Chest Hospital in Sabah health zone was brought under control yesterday. Crews belonging to Kuwait’s Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) responded to the fire that gutted Al-Sadri Hospital and brought it under control with no casualties reported, KFSD announced.

Kuwait’s new Health Minister Jamal AlHarbi along with KFSD Director General Lt. Gen. Khalid Al-Mikrad visited the scene of the fire.

The Ministry of Health (MoH) noted that the blaze which erupted in a dilapidated building, was the result of an electrical short circuit, adding that the incident was dealt with in a timely manner which prevented the fire from spreading out of control. Firemen evacuated the building and isolated the ICU to prevent the fire from spreading and harming patients.
