In­te­rior Min­is­ter aban­dons re­spon­si­bil­ity over send­ing staff for treat­ment abroad

KUWAIT: Deputy Premier and In­te­rior Min­is­ter Lt Gen Sheikh Khaled AlJar­rah Al-Sabah is­sued a min­is­te­rial de­ci­sion to trans­fer the ap­proval of send­ing in­te­rior min­istry em­ploy­ees for treat­ment abroad or to pri­vate hos­pi­tals in Kuwait to the Min­istry of Health’s treat­ment abroad depart­ment. The in­te­rior min­is­ter pre­vi­ously had the au­thor­ity for mak­ing such ap­provals, but af­ter yes­ter­day’s de­ci­sion, the treat­ment abroad depart­ment be­comes the sole au­thor­ity re­spon­si­ble for mak­ing such de­ci­sions.

No in­juries in fire

Fire­men put out fire in a mosque un­der con­struc­tion in Jaber Al-Ali yes­ter­day. Fire­fight­ers ar­rived to the scene min­utes af­ter the fire was re­ported, and man­aged to put out the flames be­fore the blaze could spread. No in­juries were re­ported in the in­ci­dent. A case was filed to de­ter­mine the cause of the fire.

Traf­fic light

The In­te­rior Min­istry’s traf­fic depart­ment said a traf­fic light will be­come op­er­a­tional start­ing from to­day for ve­hi­cles com­ing from King Fahd Road at the in­ter­sec­tion with Street 278 at Sabah Al-Ah­mad Sea City.
