Kuwait dis­trib­utes school bags to dis­placed Iraqis

Kuwaiti Con­sulate Gen­eral in Irbil has dis­trib­uted some 1,000 school bags for dis­placed Iraqi stu­dents in Irbil. Kuwait’s Con­sul Gen­eral in Irbil Omar Al-Kan­dari said yes­ter­day that Kuwait is keen on help­ing the dis­placed Iraqis in Kur­dis­tan and it has cho­sen to con­cen­trate on the ed­u­ca­tional side for its great sig­nif­i­cance to build­ing bet­ter gen­er­a­tions. He added that the cam­paign in­cludes the dis­tri­bu­tion of 20,000 bags and dif­fer­ent sup­plies, not­ing that some 5,000 bags have so far been dis­trib­uted. Mean­while, Hazim Yaseen, a stu­dent, thanked the state of Kuwait for the hu­man­i­tar­ian ini­tia­tive to pro­vide school bags and var­i­ous sup­plies. Kuwait has been of­fer­ing hu­man­i­tar­ian aid to the dis­placed Iraqis in the Kur­dis­tan re­gion, in­clud­ing an ed­u­ca­tional aid project, in ad­di­tion to 3,000 heaters and food ra­tions as part of an aid pack­age ear­marked for the wartorn na­tion. — KUNA
