Qatari Emir, French Pres­i­dent sup­port Kuwaiti me­di­a­tion to re­solve Gulf cri­sis

Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Ham­mad Al Thani and French Pres­i­dent Em­manuel Macron em­pha­sized the need to re­solve the Gulf cri­sis through di­a­logue and diplo­matic means. They have also ex­pressed full sup­port to the Kuwaiti me­di­a­tion led by His High­ness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ah­mad Al-Jaber AlSabah. Th­ese re­marks were made by the two lead­ers dur­ing a phone con­ver­sa­tion re­ceived by the Emir of Qatar from the French Pres­i­dent on Mon­day, the Qatari News Agency (QNA) re­ported.

They have also dis­cussed bi­lat­eral re­la­tions and joint ef­forts to com­bat ter­ror­ism and dry up its fi­nan­cial re­sources. Ear­lier in the day, His High­ness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ah­mad Al-Jaber AlSabah re­ceived at Bayan Palace Qatar’s For­eign Min­is­ter Sheikh Mo­ham­mad Bin Ab­dul­rah­man Al-Thani who handed His High­ness a mes­sage from Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Ha­mad Al-Thani. The King­dom of Saudi Ara­bia, UAE, Bahrain and Egypt on Sun­day ac­cepted His High­ness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ah­mad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s re­quest to ex­tend the dead­line given to Qatar to re­spond to the list of de­mands by 48 hours. —KUNA
