Investment office away from supervision: MP
MP Khalil Al-Saleh said it is necessary to revive the issue pertaining with the Kuwaiti investment office in London, and that supervision must be strict towards this office ‘which has become distant from supervision and financial examination systems and relies on packaged reports.’ The lawmaker said that the National Assembly discussed the issue in 2015 and that many points were brought up. ‘We are still drawing attention to this issue, but there is no response from state officials regarding it,’ he said. Saleh further indicated that MPs called for national personnel to follow up this issue, and demanded that the State Audit Bureau carries out its duties in that regard. ‘Those demands were met with deaf ears, however,’ Saleh lamented.
