The 2035 vision
Until when are we going to continue to suppress innovative ideas?
This is not a dream as some people may think, rather it is a truth that one day we will see the civilization’s sun emanating from Kuwait’s islands and reflect its rays on Silk City and Kuwait. That is the reality His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad drew for us, and as we sat with Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Nasser Sabah AlAhmad who took us in a trip 15 years into the future to see it with our own eyes and hear about the status of our children, and how he planned their future so as to guarantee them a dignified life just like what our grandfathers have done for us.
Time is here for our efforts to be consolidated and ideas should come together to search for an alternative for the oil wealth, and this is what we heard from ‘Bu Abdullah’ over two hours with a comprehensive vision for all what has been and will be done in the Kuwait islands and the Silk City project. Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad’s message was clear when he met with President and members of Kuwait Journalists Association as well as some dignitaries and media men recently at Yarmouk cultural center, giving a detailed explanation for His Highness the Amir’s vision about Kuwait’s various alternative sources of income, so that we preserve our generations future. That evening leaped with us to see how we can preserve Kuwait’s economy and its financial center, and showed us that bright future so that we can see its shining civilization. We must come together and unite our ideas to build the future and stay away from all noise and rigid ideas.
We need to take a moment and think deeply of the words of ‘Bu Abdullah’, which made me visualize that future period and brought many questions to my mind, the first of which: Until when are we going to continue to suppress innovative ideas while we have the minds of 2035? Until when will we keep rejecting the other? Until when will we keep placing ourselves in the mold of rules that were made before the 1970s? Until when will we not see the sun of the 2035 civilization?—Translated by Kuwait Times
