Six months in ad­vance

Em­ploy­ees in the pri­vate and oil sec­tors can now ap­ply to re­new their work per­mits six months be­fore its ex­pi­ra­tion date, ac­cord­ing to a new amend­ment pub­lished in this week’s is­sue of the na­tional gazette ‘Kuwait Al-Youm.’ Sev­eral doc­u­ments must be at­tached to the re­newal doc­u­ment, in­clud­ing a valid pass­port, pho­to­copy of the ex­pir­ing work per­mit and civil ID, a copy of the work con­tract, a copy of the au­tho­rized sig­na­ture and re­quired pay­ments. A work per­mit is is­sued for a max­i­mum of three years, ac­cord­ing to the law.
