Sub­mis­sions are still open for Lexus Short Films Sea­son 4

As­pir­ing film­mak­ers have un­til Au­gust 24 to put their en­tries for­ward

Emerg­ing and tal­ented film­mak­ers look­ing for a plat­form to reach world­wide au­di­ence and work un­der the guid­ance of in­dus­try men­tors on their film­mak­ing project? have over than one month left to get their en­tries in for the Lexus Short Films se­ries, a global ini­tia­tive from Lexus and The We­in­stein Com­pany aimed at sup­port­ing and nur­tur­ing the next gen­er­a­tion of film­mak­ers. The last date to sub­mit en­tries for the pro­gram, now in its fourth sea­son, is Au­gust 24, 2017.

The theme for this year’s se­ries is TRANS­FOR­MA­TION, which iden­ti­fies with the trans­for­ma­tion of the Lexus brand and gives ex­pres­sion to the brand’s be­lief that amaz­ing things hap­pen when you trans­form the or­di­nary into ex­tra­or­di­nary.

For Sea­son 4, an es­teemed filmmaker se­lec­tion com­mit­tee which in­cludes Os­car nom­i­nee, writer and ac­tor Tay­lor Sheridan (best known for the films ‘Hell or High Wa­ter’ and ‘Si­cario’, and the tele­vi­sion se­ries ‘Sons of An­ar­chy’) along­side key ex­ec­u­tives of The We­in­stein Com­pany and Lexus will be re­view­ing the sub­mis­sions to select the four fi­nal­ists who will each write and di­rect a short film pro­duced by The We­in­stein Com­pany. Each film will re­ceive the full back­ing of The We­in­stein Com­pany, in­clud­ing pro­mo­tional theatri­cal screen­ings, a global film fes­ti­val cam­paign, and pro­mo­tional sup­port for its ul­ti­mate re­lease. Par­tic­i­pat­ing film­mak­ers can sub­mit their films for con­sid­er­a­tion uti­liz­ing Withoutabox (, the pre­mier sub­mis­sion ser­vice for film fes­ti­vals and film­mak­ers. Takayuki Yoshit­sugu, Chief Rep­re­sen­ta­tive, Mid­dle East and North Africa Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Of­fice, Toy­ota Mo­tor Cor­po­ra­tion, said, “The Lexus Short Films has helped to es­tab­lish the ca­reers of up-and-com­ing film­mak­ers by pro­vid­ing them with the sup­port and re­sources needed to take their craft to the next level. Cre­at­ing ex­pe­ri­ences that amaze and in­spire peo­ple re­mains our ul­ti­mate goal in ev­ery­thing we do at Lexus and, through ini­tia­tives such as the Lexus Short Films se­ries, we aim to bring our pas­sion for de­sign and in­no­va­tion to a broad cross-sec­tion of au­di­ences across the globe to cre­ate a wider im­pact.”
