Kuwait offers more food aid to Yemenis in Taiz
RIYADH: A Kuwaiti humanitarian campaign yesterday provided 3,000 food packages to the needy families in the deprived and most-harmed areas of Yemen’s Taiz Governorate. The food was offered to Yemenis in various parts of the province, including the Jabal Zeid camp for the displaced and the besieged Taiz area, the campaign said in a statement.
Governorate Undersecretary Aref Jamel commended Kuwait’s efforts to help the Yemeni people since the eruption of the crisis in the country, highly appreciating His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AlSabah’s support. Jamel pointed to the colossal devastation in Taez, calling for the more flow of aid.
Meanwhile, Abdulrahman Al-Wajeih, project officer in the ‘Kuwait By Your Side’ campaign, said that the food aid would help alleviate the suffering of the people in Taiz amid the acute conditions they have been going through. Wajeih voiced thanks to the State of Kuwait for the generous support and efforts to help the “brothers in Yemen,” especially in Taiz.
