AUB hon­ors vol­un­teer­ing team for suc­cess of Ra­madan so­cial pro­gram

Ahli United Bank’s (AUB) man­age­ment honored the Bank’s vol­un­teer­ing team for their ef­forts and out­stand­ing per­for­mance, which led to the suc­cess­ful im­ple­men­ta­tion of the Bank’s char­i­ta­ble, cul­tural, re­li­gious and so­cial re­spon­si­bil­ity ac­tiv­i­ties dur­ing the Holy Month of Ra­madan.

Dur­ing a spe­cial cer­e­mony, which was at­tended by the Bank’s man­age­ment and led by Richard Groves, AUB’s Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer, the Bank high­lighted its grat­i­tude for the team’s strong spirit, which was re­flected by hav­ing a ro­bust and suc­cess­ful so­cial re­spon­si­bil­ity ac­tiv­ity cal­en­dar dur­ing the Holy Month of Ra­madan. AUB, as part of its con­tin­ued com­mit­ment, de­vel­oped an ex­ten­sive Ra­madan pro­gram that in­cluded a range of so­cial ac­tiv­i­ties. Th­ese in­cluded the dis­tri­bu­tion of thou­sands of If­tar and So­hoor meals in dif­fer­ent ar­eas across Kuwait for those who had been fast­ing; vis­it­ing or­phan­ages and chil­dren at hos­pi­tals, and pre­sent­ing a host of gifts and gergean to them. More­over the Bank held a re­li­gious sem­i­nar for its em­ploy­ees un­der the theme of “How do we pre­pare for Ra­madan?”, which was headed by Sheikh Dr. Khaled Al-Mathkoor - Head of Shari’ah and Fatwa Su­per­vi­sory Board at AUB.

In ad­di­tion, AUB launched a TV com­mer­cial to cel­e­brate the ar­rival of the Holy month. The TV ad­ver­tise­ment’s mes­sage was a wel­com­ing one to mark the ar­rival of the blessed month of Ra­madan and it achieved a very large num­ber of view­ers. Fur­ther­more, the Bank held its Ra­madan Qu­ran Recita­tion com­pe­ti­tion in ad­di­tion to its par­tic­i­pa­tion in an aware­ness drive to sup­port autism patients. As part of spread­ing re­li­gious aware­ness across main­stream me­dia, AUB, dur­ing Ra­madan, spon­sored Al Rai TV’s ‘Ahadeeth Wa Ebar’ pro­gram, which is hosted by Sheikh Dr Ab­du­laziz Al-Qas­sar, a mem­ber and re­porter of the Bank’s sharia and Fatwa Su­per­vi­sory Board.

On this oc­ca­sion, AUB pointed out that it is keen to honor its Ra­madan vol­un­teer­ing team for their tire­less ef­forts and com­mit­ment to serve the com­mu­nity. It is also an oc­ca­sion to thank them and pro­mote the spirit of giv­ing and for them to be­come role mod­els for other em­ploy­ees in the com­ing years and in dif­fer­ent ini­tia­tives.

In short, AUB reaf­firms its com­mit­ment to­wards sup­port­ing so­cial re­spon­si­bil­ity ac­tiv­i­ties as part of its de­sire to play a vi­tal role in serv­ing so­ci­ety. The Bank’s strat­egy fo­cuses on de­vel­op­ing its CSR plat­form, es­pe­cially dur­ing the Holy month of Ra­madan, in an ef­fort to guar­an­tee and en­sure the pro­vi­sion of the best pos­si­ble ac­tiv­i­ties each year and that th­ese are in line with the val­ues of the Holy month. Val­ues that strengthen the Bank’s so­cial bonds with the lo­cal com­mu­nity.
