Kuwait, Latvia sign ac­cords to bol­ster ties

KUWAIT: A num­ber of ac­cords were signed be­tween Kuwait and Latvia yes­ter­day aim­ing at bolstering ties in the eco­nomic and diplo­matic do­mains. The sign­ing of the agree­ments came after a meet­ing be­tween First Deputy Prime Min­is­ter and Min­is­ter of For­eign Af­fairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Ha­mad Al-Sabah and vis­it­ing coun­ter­part Edgars Rinke­vics. The meet­ing be­tween the two of­fi­cials fo­cused on is­sues of mu­tual in­ter­est as well as devel­op­ments within the re­gion and the world.

Kuwait and Latvia agreed to ex­pand co­op­er­a­tion in the eco­nomic and tech­ni­cal do­mains. The two coun­tries also ap­proved mea­sures to ex­empt visas for those car­ry­ing of diplo­matic pass­ports and other doc­u­ments of sim­i­lar na­ture. A lun­cheon was held after the sign­ing of the meet­ing, which was at­tended by top Kuwait and Lat­vian diplo­mats.
