Snow may re­turn to cer­tain re­gions in Latvia this week

In the first cou­ple of days of this week, a tran­si­tion zone be­tween the anti-cy­clone above Rus­sia and cy­clones above West­ern Europe will be hov­er­ing above Latvia. With that, winds will draw in from the south and south-east. No sig­nif­i­cant pre­cip­i­ta­tion is ex­pected.

In the sec­ond half of the week, a cloud and pre­cip­i­ta­tion area will reach Latvia from the north, bring­ing short-term rain and lower air tem­per­a­tures, ac­cord­ing to in­for­ma­tion from the En­vi­ron­men­tal, Ge­ol­ogy and Me­te­o­rol­ogy Cen­tre.

At the be­gin­ning of the week, air tem­per­a­ture will re­main within 0° C… +6° C and +5° C… +10° C gen­er­ally dur­ing the day. In the sec­ond half of the week, how­ever, air tem­per­a­ture in east­ern re­gions of Latvia will likely drop to -1° C… -2° C at night. It will be some­what warmer in other ar­eas, but gen­er­ally day­time air tem­per­a­ture is not likely to ex­ceed +1° C… +5° C.
