Snow may return to certain regions in Latvia this week
In the first couple of days of this week, a transition zone between the anti-cyclone above Russia and cyclones above Western Europe will be hovering above Latvia. With that, winds will draw in from the south and south-east. No significant precipitation is expected.
In the second half of the week, a cloud and precipitation area will reach Latvia from the north, bringing short-term rain and lower air temperatures, according to information from the Environmental, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
At the beginning of the week, air temperature will remain within 0° C… +6° C and +5° C… +10° C generally during the day. In the second half of the week, however, air temperature in eastern regions of Latvia will likely drop to -1° C… -2° C at night. It will be somewhat warmer in other areas, but generally daytime air temperature is not likely to exceed +1° C… +5° C.
