Es­to­nian ex­ports up 15%

The ex­ports of Es­to­nian goods in March as com­pared to March 2016 grew 15 per­cent and im­ports by 12 per­cent com­pared, the coun­try’s statis­ti­cians have es­ti­mated.

Es­to­nian pub­lic broad­caster ERR re­ported cit­ing statis­ti­cians at Sta­tis­tics Es­to­nia, in March 2017, ex­ports from Es­to­nia to­talled 1.2 bil­lion eu­ros and im­ports to Es­to­nia 1.3 bil­lion eu­ros in cur­rent prices, which made the coun­try’s the trade deficit de­crease on year from 153 mil­lion eu­ros in March 2016 to 138 mil­lion eu­ros.

Main mar­kets for Es­to­nian pro­duce in March were Fin­land (ac­count­ing for 16 per­cent of Es­to­nia’s ex­ports), Swe­den (14 per­cent) and Latvia (8 per­cent) with lead­ing prod­ucts be­ing elec­tri­cal equip­ment, fol­lowed by wood and ar­ti­cles of wood and min­eral prod­ucts.
