Alitrip to promote Latvia’s tourism and business opportunities
To ensure recognition on the Chinese market, as well as help develop multi-sided cooperation in tourism, Latvian Investments and Development Agency and Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba Group’s tourism platform Alitrip have signed an agreement for cooperation.
The agreement signed on 16 May provides for publishing information about Latvia’s tourism and business opportunities on Alitrip platform to ensure better recognition, as well as variety of services for Chinese clients. For Latvian tourism operators, this platform will be a great opportunity for cooperation with China.
Signing the agreement, LIAA Director Andris Ozols said: «Far-away markets, especially Asia, demonstrated stable and growing indexes in the past several years. Asian tour operators search for new destinations in Europe. Cooperation with Alibaba Group and Alitrip will offer LIAA and Latvian tourism companies unprecedented opportunities to promote Latvia in the Asian region.» Responsible ministries also work to speed up visa registration process for Chinese tourists.
LIAA emphasizes that Latvia is the first Eastern European country whose information will be included in China’s largest internet platform. Alitrip has 250 million clients registered in its database. At the moment, Europe on this platform is represented by France, Germany, UK, Finland and Denmark.
