New Laima plant in Adazi; up to 20 mil­lion eu­ros to be in­vested

In the next three years, EUR 20 mil­lion will be in­vested in the new Laima man­u­fac­tur­ing plant in Adazi, as re­ported by rep­re­sen­ta­tives of Orkla Con­fec­tionery & Snacks Latvija.

The to­tal area of the new man­u­fac­tur­ing plant will be ap­prox­i­mately 6,500 m2.

«The lo­ca­tion cho­sen for the new plant will se­cure Orkla Con­fec­tionery & Snacks Latvija growth op­por­tu­ni­ties in pro­duc­tion ca­pac­ity and long-term strate­gic de­vel­op­ment perspective in Latvia,» says Orkla Con­fec­tionery & Snacks Latvija chair­man Toms Didrih­sons.

He adds that af­ter the re­lo­ca­tion of pro­duc­tion ac­tiv­i­ties from Miera Street to Adazi, the com­pany’s ad­min­is­tra­tion and Laima Choco­late Mu­seum will con­tinue work­ing in the his­toric Laima build­ing. ‘We will look for op­por­tu­ni­ties to de­velop ex­ist­ing Laima prop­erty sit­u­ated on Miera Street, pos­si­bly in co­op­er­a­tion with Lat­vian real es­tate mar­ket rep­re­sen­ta­tives.’

Con­struc­tion is planned to com­mence in the first half of 2018 and fin­ished around Q1 2019.
