Es­to­nian co­op­er­a­tive bank Coop Pank starts op­er­a­tions

Es­to­nian Kredi­idi­pank has been from Mon­day, Oc­to­ber 2, re­branded to Coop Pank re­flect­ing the prin­ci­ples of op­er­a­tion of its largest owner – a group of co­op­er­a­tives.

Es­to­nian pub­lic broad­caster ERR re­ports that Coop Pank’s ma­jor stake­holder is Coop Eesti, a retail shop group made up of 19 re­gional con­sumer co­op­er­a­tives.

Coop Pank board chair­man Mar­gus Rink stated that 14 bank branches across Es­to­nia have been re­branded to the new name, the first of which have moved into Coop su­per­mar­kets and the bank’s new on­line bank­ing sys­tem has like­wise been launched into op­er­a­tion.

Dur­ing Oc­to­ber, the first bank­ing points will be­gin op­er­a­tions in Coop stores, of­fer­ing cus­tomers ac­cess to ev­ery­day ser­vices, for ex­am­ple, open­ing ac­counts, ap­ply­ing for bank cards and choos­ing small-size loans.
