Estonian ultracapacitor maker to relocate manufacturing to Germany
Estonian ultracapacitor maker and exporter Skeleton Technologies has decided to relocate its production from Estonia to Germany with the aim if working at a location closer to its clients.
Estonian public broadcaster ERR reports citing ETV that the firm, which has grown from a start-up into a European player in energy storage and employs some 100 workers, managed to boost its turnover three times in 2017.
A part of Skeleton Technologies’ production has already been relocated to Dresden, Germany, where the company opened a production facility in 2017; however, this July, Skeleton will be shifting the entirety of its production from Viimsi to Germany. Skeleton CEO and co-founder Taavi Madiberk commented: «This will allow us to offer our clients faster delivery times and lower logistics costs as well as better connect the customer with our company. In Germany’s case, (..) we’re looking at Bosch and Continental, but also the producers BMW, Volkswagen Group, Audi — then proximity to the client is important».
