Nordic en­ergy Re­search to look for most ef­fec­tive so­lu­tions for Baltic states

Nordic En­ergy Re­search, a plat­form for co­op­er­a­tive en­ergy re­search and pol­icy de­vel­op­ment un­der the aus­pices of Nordic Coun­cil of Min­is­ters, will look for the most ef­fec­tive so­lu­tions that would help the Baltic States at­tain their en­ergy and cli­mate pol­icy tar­gets, the in­sti­tute’s di­rec­tor Hans Jor­gen Koch said at the con­fer­ence “Nordic-baltic En­ergy Per­spec­tives - Cli­mate Change, En­ergy Se­cu­rity and Ex­porta­bil­ity of En­ergy So­lu­tions.”

The re­search will also look into how the Baltic States can in­crease their en­ergy se­cu­rity and en­sure com­pet­i­tive prices as they move to­wards their en­ergy and cli­mate tar­gets. The aim of the study is to help the Baltic states achieve their en­ergy and cli­mate tar­gets by 2030 in the most ef­fec­tive way, con­tribut­ing at the same time to the EU’S com­mon cli­mate tar­gets.
