Initial demand for new Riga-liepaja route is quite good
The initial demand for the new route launched between the Latvian capital Riga and the Liepaja port city in Southwestern Latvia is quite good and in line with the forecasts, said representatives of the Latvian national airline airbaltic.
But they declined to give any specific figures about the load factor of the first airbaltic airplanes to fly on the route.
The five most popular transit flights via Liepaja are to London, Berlin, Moscow, Copenhagen and Hamburg.
As reported, airbaltic will launch flights from Riga to Liepaja on May 16, with the first flight in this route scheduled to depart at 11:25 PM tonight.
airbaltic will fly from Riga to Liepaja three times a week. Passengers will board a Bombardier Q499 Nextgen aircraft for a flight that will last forty minutes.
