New po­lit­i­cal par­tythe Move­ment For! es­tab­lished in Latvia

A new po­lit­i­cal party po­si­tion­ing it­self as a pro-euro­pean lib­eral-cen­trist po­lit­i­cal force has been es­tab­lished in Latvia. A to­tal of 298 peo­ple reg­is­tered as mem­bers of the new party called Kustiba Par! (The Move­ment For!) and 274 voted in fa­vor of es­tab­lish­ment of the new party, while none voted against or ab­stained. The new party de­scribes its key val­ues as free in­di­vid­ual, con­sol­i­dated so­ci­ety, the rule-of-law coun­try and unity in Europe. The Move­ment For! will seek to en­sure equal op­por­tu­ni­ties for all peo­ple in Latvia as a mod­ern Euro­pean coun­try gov­erned by the rule-of-law.

The party's ob­jec­tives in­clude: build­ing a con­sol­i­dated so­ci­ety, en­sur­ing democ­racy and the rule-of-law in a par­lia­men­tary repub­lic, cre­at­ing con­di­tions fa­vor­able for busi­ness to fa­cil­i­tate dy­namic and sus­tain­able growth in Latvia.

As re­ported, a new po­lit­i­cal move­ment an­nounced on July 26 unites five MPS who re­cently left the Unity party: Ilze Vinkele, Lolita Ci­gane, An­drejs Judins, Alek­sejs Losku­tovs and Ints Dalderis. Other well-known fig­ures in­volved in the new po­lit­i­cal move­ment in­clude: for­mer eco­nom­ics min­is­ter Daniels Pav­luts, po­lit­i­cal an­a­lyst Mar­ija Gol­ubeva and en­tre­pre­neur Martins Stakis, the owner of In­no­cent Cof­fee Mas­ters and In­no­cent Pro.
