JWT Ac­quires Ma­jor­ity Stake in Cleartag

J. Wal­ter Thomp­son ( JWT), the global mar­ket­ing com­mu­ni­ca­tions agency, has ac­quired a ma­jor­ity stake in Cleartag, a lead­ing in­de­pen­dent full ser­vice dig­i­tal mar­ket­ing con­sul­tancy in Le­banon and the UAE. The amount of the deal was undis­closed, but Cleartag’s unau­dited rev­enues for 2014 to­taled $3.6 mil­lion, with gross as­sets of ap­prox­i­mately $1.5 mil­lion. Founded in 2000 by Tarek Da­jani, Cleartag of­fers a broad range of dig­i­tal con­sult­ing, user ex­pe­ri­ence, ad­ver­tis­ing, and cam­paign ser­vices. The agency em­ploys around 65 peo­ple in Beirut and Dubai. The agency will con­tinue to trade as Cleartag, and will strengthen JWT’S dig­i­tal of­fer­ing in the MENA. Mean­while Da­jani will re­main Chair­man and CEO of its par­ent com­pany DNY Group.
