In­no­va­tion Plat­form star­tad Launches In­cu­ba­tor

Abu Dhabi in­no­va­tion and en­trepreneur­ship plat­form star­tad launched star­tad In­cu­ba­tor, grant­ing emerg­ing star­tups ac­cess to lead­ing UAE in­dus­try play­ers and op­por­tu­ni­ties for busi­ness vi­a­bil­ity test­ing. An­chored at NYU Abu Dhabi, star­tad is a part­ner­ship be­tween the univer­sity and Tam­keen, a sub­sidiary of the UAE Ex­ec­u­tive Af­fairs Au­thor­ity. Of­fered twice a year for 10-15 teams per cy­cle, star­tad In­cu­ba­tor de­liv­ers a four-month in­cu­ba­tion pro­gram. Ser­vices in­clude seed in­vest­ment, shared space, men­tor­ship, and le­gal as­sis­tance. star­tad web­site started ac­cept­ing ap­pli­ca­tions in Jan­uary 2017, and the first batch will be tak­ing up res­i­dency at NYU Abu Dhabi in Septem­ber. Ear­lier in Au­gust, star­tad launched star­tad Fo­rum of­fer­ing free lec­tures that are open to the public, a dig­i­tal and busi­ness lit­er­acy pro­gram, net­work ses­sions, and le­gal clin­ics to help un­der­stand the le­gal frame­work for star­tups in the UAE.
