Launch of Dubai Smart­preneur Com­pe­ti­tion

The Dubai Cham­ber of Com­merce and In­dus­try, in as­so­ci­a­tion with the Smart Dubai Of­fice, launched the sec­ond edi­tion of the Dubai Smart­preneur Com­pe­ti­tion and re­ceived ap­pli­ca­tions un­til mid-april. The com­pe­ti­tion which will be fea­tured at the Arab­net Dig­i­tal Sum­mit on May 17th in­cludes Uae-based en­trepreneurs and their busi­ness ideas within the fol­low­ing ar­eas cov­ered un­der the Smart Dubai man­date: smart econ­omy, smart liv­ing, smart mo­bil­ity, smart gov­er­nance, smart en­vi­ron­ment, and smart peo­ple. A high-level jury panel will cri­tique the en­tries, and par­tic­i­pants who qual­ify will then at­tend a two-day work­shop on sec­tor-spe­cific train­ing, men­tor­ship, build­ing re­la­tion­ships, and de­vel­op­ing a full busi­ness plan. This year, the com­pe­ti­tion is be­ing held with the sup­port of Dubai Start Up Hub, in col­lab­o­ra­tion with IBM, and the fi­nal pitches for the 10 fi­nal­ists will be held at Arab­net Dig­i­tal Sum­mit 2017. The re­sults will be an­nounced in the clos­ing cer­e­mony, and the top three win­ners have the chance to win cash prizes worth AED 150,000 ($40,000) and the op­por­tu­nity to join Te­jar Dubai en­trepreneur­ship de­vel­op­ment pro­gram for a year.
