Manning Up

Bespoke - - EMPEROR 1688 -

At a time when more and more luxury watch brands are expanding their product lines to accomodate the ever more sophisticated tastes of female customers, Chanel is, as always, swimming against the current. The company just launched its first watch made exclusively for men. Named Monsieur de Chanel, it took five years to develop and comes equipped with the brand’s first in-house highwatchmaking movement comprising 170 components, a jumping hour, retrograde minutes and a three-day power reserve. Sized nicely at 40mm in diameter with a 10mm thickness, this handsome watch will be limited to just 300 pieces (half in white gold, at 36,000 USD, and the other half in a Chanel alloy called beige gold, priced at 34,500 USD).
