World of Difference
Patek Philippe already makes the world’s most collectible and coveted watches but this year they launched something that’ll get watch enthusiasts even more excited than usual. That’s because the 5930G melds two of the Geneva watchmaker’s most popular complications (a chronograph and a 24-city world-timer function) in a single white-gold case bearing a very fashionable blue guilloché dial. That they did so within a case of just 39.5mm by 12.86mm apparently required so much tinkering that the final caliber can be considered entirely new. At 73,700 USD it’s not cheap but considering the last time Patek combined these functions was in 1940 in a watch that now resides in the company’s private museum collection, this new version represents a banker of an investment.
