The RM 50-03 Mclaren F1 Tourbillon Split Seconds Chronograph is the first of what we imagine will be a number of products born from the recently signed ten-year partnership between the Swiss watchmaker, Richard Mille, and the English Formula 1 automaker Mclaren. Given both brands share the same values of pushing the limits of what is possible in their respective fields, this watch doesn’t disappoint. Through a marriage of exceptionally strong and lightweight materials, like titanium, carbon thin-ply technology and, in a watchmaking first, Graph TPT (which is six times lighter than steel and 200 times as strong), it tips the scales at just under 40 grams (including the strap), making it the lightest split seconds chronograph ever created. Only 75 pieces will be made, for an eye-watering sum of 980,000 USD.
