There’s some­thing to be said for an out­fit that works nine to five and be­yond – one that’s se­ri­ous enough for deal-mak­ing yet pretty enough for sun­set drinks. “When it comes to per­fect­ing the desk-to-dance­floor look, a sim­ple slip dress is an ab­so­lute game changer,” says Lisa Aiken, Fash­ion Di­rec­tor at Net-a-porter. “The Row’s ex­clu­sive Guin­e­vere dress is my go-to, it can be lay­ered over a t-shirt and worn with flats dur­ing the day and when the sun goes down, re­move the tee and add a heel by the likes of Gian­vito Rossi.” It’s a fine bal­ance, but by in­fus­ing clas­sics with a lit­tle spice, you’ll find the per­fect for­mula. Fi­nally, keep ac­ces­sories in the same tones as your dress but pile on some defin­ing de­tails, like op­u­lent pearls or gilded studs. In other words, make sure they have plenty of per­son­al­ity, just like you.
