Knotty Girl

For the woman who can't decide between her practical day bag and a chic evening clutch, Bottega Veneta's City Knot bag offers it all.

We're firm believers in the transformative power a bag can have on a woman. It's also why we think every single one you own should serve a distinct purpose and make you feel more confident as you head out of the door. Ideally, the bag should elevate your style while accommodating your daily essentials. Enter Bottega Veneta’s audacious City Knot bag, which effectively bridges the practicality of a shoulder bag with the sleek look of a clutch. Introduced with the Spring/ Summer 2017 collection and varied this season, the bag takes the Italian house's signature metal knot closure (which has been a mainstay for the brand ever since it first appeared on a box clutch designed by Thomas Maier in 2001) in a thoroughly new direction. The Knot's latest iteration links the brand to its original roots while adapting to our frenzied, modern lifestyles. That’s because the geometric design comes in three versions which pay homage to materials and textures from Bottega Veneta 1970s archive, with details like the shiny texture of the Capra Lissata’s Butterfly motif and the timeless intrecciato motif, reinterpreted as a refined engraved embellishment on the buckles. The urban edge becomes apparent when you look inside and discover three roomy compartments, proving there’s really no reason to compromise style for function.
