Play Time

Hautlence produces a reminder that we should all allow a little time for fun

Bespoke - - WHOA! -

Made from aerospace grade titanium, the Playground Labyrinth is a watch made by Hautlence that doesn’t even even tell the time. Instead, it features a beautifully crafted game in which you navigate an 18-karat 5N rose gold ball around an 18-karat white gold maze featuring a vertical satin finish and diamond-lapped angles. So, if it’s not a watch then why does it need a crown, on its right-hand side? Well, that’s actually how you crank the mechanical lift that transports the ball from the underside of the dial up to the starting point of the maze. Clearly Hautlence, founded as it was in 2004, has a rebellious streak and the company’s choice of Eric Cantona as brand ambassador certainly confirms this. In fact, in an accompanying promotional video for the 12,300 USD watch on the brand’s website, the flamboyant ex-footballer grimaces at the camera while telling the viewer to “take your time’ and “break the rules”. If you’re interested then act fast as only 36 Playground Labyrinth watches will be made.
