Sea Double An AMG hypercar-inspired dreamboat
Miami-based Cigarette Racing has come a long way since its early days as a rudimentary “go-fast” manufacturer of boats designed for offshore racing – and drug smuggling – across the Caribbean and the United States. Nowadays it prides itself on boats that are as stable as they are fast and they’ve just released their finest product yet, one that marks eleven years of collaborating with Mercedes-amg. Named 515 Project One, it’s 51.5 feet (15.6m) long and inspired by the AMG Project One. Now it costs 2 million USD, but that’s 700,000 USD less than its fourwheeled counterpart, and it has four more seats than it too. The boat’s structure is composite, consisting of carbon-fibre, Kevlar and E-glass, and it runs on two 9-litre Mercury Racing quad cam four valve 1,350hp engines and M8 stern drives to deliver a top speed of over 120 knots (225 km/h). Sure, that’s considerably less than the 350km/h top end of the Project One hypercar, but the Cigarette comes with large sunbathing loungers fore and aft and you won’t get that on the Merc.
