Full Display A mix of mechanics, art and eroticism
This Classic Voyeur watch by Ulysse Nardin comes in three versions: rose gold, as shown here, for 314,500 USD; platinum, for 346,500 USD; and platinum with 60 baguette diamonds around the bezel, for 398,000 USD. Just 18 pieces will be made of each, and though it features a minute repeater, which is one of the technological pinnacles of mechanical timekeeping, what makes it very special, even among X-rated timepieces, is that its automatons are positioned front and centre on the dial and not hidden behind a cover, or on the caseback. The scene depicts two couples (individually hand sculpted in gold, with appropriately hinged and moving parts) that engage in different sexual acts that play out in time with the repeater’s chimes. “I know it can sound funny when you look at the watch, but it’s actually a good illustration of how we master craftsmanship,” says the company’s CEO, Patrick Pruniaux.
