FOR­EIGN­ERS SNAP UP TURK­ISH PROP­ER­TIES

Prop­erty Sales to for­eign­ers in Tur­key rose a whop­ping 66 per­cent year-on-year dur­ing the first 10 months of 2014, to­tal­ing 15,417 trans­ac­tions, ac­cord­ing to fig­ures re­leased by the Turk­ish Sta­tis­ti­cal in­sti­tute. An­talya, a tourism des­ti­na­tion in the south of the coun­try was the most pop­u­lar province for for­eign buy­ers with 5,486 prop­er­ties sold this year, while Is­tan­bul came in sec­ond place with 4,546 trans­ac­tions. Aydin came in third place with 1,018 trans­ac­tions, fol­lowed by Mugla and Mersin re­spec­tively with 903 and 641 home sales. A to­tal of 926,932 houses were sold in Tur­key in the first ten months of 2014, com­pared to 938,725 for the same pe­riod in 2013.
