The Beirut In­ter­na­tional Fes­ti­val As­so­ci­a­tion

On the 11th of Au­gust 2015, the Beirut In­ter­na­tional Fes­ti­val As­so­ci­a­tion was launched for the very first time dur­ing a press con­fer­ence held at the Na­tional Mu­seum of Beirut. H.E. Mr. Michel Pharaon the Min­is­ter of Tourism, H.E. Mr. Rony Arayji the Min­is­ter of Cul­ture, Dr. Bi­lal Ha­mat the Mayor of Beirut, Judge Ziad Che­bib the Gov­er­nor of Beirut, Ms. Mona Elias Hrawi the Pres­i­dent of the Na­tional Her­itage Foun­da­tion, Mr. Elias Aoun the Pres­i­dent of the Union of Ed­i­tors, Mr. Kaaki the Pres­i­dent of the Or­der of Jour­nal­ists and Mr. Mounir Douaidy the Gen­eral Man­ager of Solid­ere were all in at­ten­dance, along with mem­bers of the press and some of the board mem­bers of the Beirut In­ter­na­tional Fes­ti­val As­so­ci­a­tion. Mrs. Lama Tam­mam Salam, chair­per­son of the Beirut In­ter­na­tional Fes­ti­val As­so­ci­a­tion, wel­comed those in at­ten­dance, say­ing, “Our vi­sion and hope for the estab­lish­ment of the Beirut In­ter­na­tional Fes­ti­val is to cre­ate cul­tural events that will take place through­out all parts of Beirut and on all plat­forms.” This first edi­tion of the fes­ti­val, “Beirut In­ter­na­tional Fes­ti­val – Nabad Beirut” will go down in his­tory for both the Le­banese cap­i­tal as well as the arts scene across the Arab world. Mrs. Salam con­cluded her speech by thank­ing all those who came to the press con­fer­ence, and in­vited them to en­joy a cock­tail re­cep­tion hosted at the mu­seum.
