Golden Tulip ho­tels, part of French Lou­vre Ho­tels Group, has ac­quired the Mid­town Ho­tel in Hamra, Beirut, turn­ing it into the chain’s sev­enth prop­erty in the Le­banese mar­ket. Ac­cord­ing to Dr. Amine Moukarzel, pres­i­dent of Golden Tulip - MENA re­gion, Lou­vre Ho­tels Group – MENA re­gion, the chain has turned into the largest one in Le­banon, in terms of the num­ber of prop­er­ties. The net­work in­cludes Golden Tulip Gal­le­ria in Jnah, Golden Tulip Ser­e­nada in Hamra, Golden Tulip Hô­tel de Ville in Sodeco, Golden Tulip Jiyeh Ma­rina in Jiyeh, Golden Tulip Lili’s Re­sort in Aley, and the re­cently in­au­gu­rated five-star Royal Tulip Achrafieh. The four-star Golden Tulip Mid­town ho­tel, which has 85 rooms, is in a soft-ren­o­va­tion phase while re­main­ing op­er­a­tional. “What helps us is our four-star cat­e­gory which is in high de­mand in the Le­banese mar­ket. Our com­ing strat­egy is to tackle the bud­get ho­tel sec­tor,” he ex­plained, an­nounc­ing plans to in­tro­duce the chain’s Tulip Inn port­fo­lio brand. “We are cur­rently search­ing for the right prop­er­ties and part­ners to de­but this brand in Le­banon.” Golden Tulip Jounieh, the chain’s eighth prop­erty, is ex­pected to open in May 2017. It will have 60 rooms.
