Be­fore the pro­posed project of Jan­neh Dam po­ten­tially gets the go-ahead, take the beau­ti­ful scenic road along the river of Nahr Ibrahim, to­wards Jan­net Artaba. The road, nar­row and dif­fi­cult but amazingly beau­ti­ful, passes through pine, oaks and cy­press trees. Once at the val­ley there are nu­mer­ous hik­ing trail pos­si­bil­i­ties; park up your car and walk along the river. Sleep Noth­ing beats a night in the wild. Take a tent, pitch it and camp by the river.

Eat En­joy a sim­ple Le­banese BBQ by the river or eat in one of the small cafés along its banks such as that of Naim Abi Akar (03 699089) who also or­ga­nizes straw­berry-pick­ing in the spring with lo­cal farm­ers.
