Fashion focus LEBANESE DESIGNERS HIT PARIS FASHION WEEK
Lebanese designs wowed at this year’s Paris Fashion Week, with Beirut-based designers showing their haute couture mastery on the runway with embroidered designs that took thousands of hours to complete. Elie Saab’s collection featured flocks of birds in flight on vintage-style gowns inspired from Beirut’s hey-day. Zuhair Murad’s couture collection had a more bohemian slant with delicate Chantilly lace and embroidered florals and relative new-comer 29-year-old Rami Kadi showed that couture can be contemporary with gowns made from innovative materials like black silicon lace and playful embroidered prints. Other Lebanese designers showing in Paris included Ziad Nakad and Saher Dia.
