The Daily Star (Lebanon) - - LEBANON -

In the article “Impact of Syrian conflict in focus at AUB,” published Thursday, Sept. 3, 2017, a statement made during a panel discussion at the American University of Beirut conference was misattributed to World Bank Economist Harun Onder. He was quoted as saying that “We must first understand the nature of the reconstruction [of Syria], especially in the context of tyranny.” This was in fact said by Nasser Yassin, the director of Research at AUB’s the Issam Fares Institute. The Daily Star regrets this error and would like to clarify the quote was in no way associated to Mr. Onder and does not reflect his view of Syrian reconstruction nor that of the World Bank.
