16. ABC GROUP AND THE CCCL OR­GA­NIZE FIRST KIDS FASH­ION SHOW

On March 14, 2015, ABC Group and the Chil­dren’s Can­cer Cen­ter of Le­banon (CCCL) held the first fash­ion show for the kids of the cen­ter and the chil­dren of ABC Achrafieh mall’s cus­tomers. Walk­ing the run­way like su­per­stars, the kids show­cased the latest fash­ion trends in the two-hour event, rais­ing aware­ness on child­hood can­cers and elic­it­ing moral and fi­nan­cial sup­port from an avid au­di­ence with whom the kids’ mes­sage of re­silience and hope res­onated.

17. ADVERTISING AGEN­CIES AS­SO­CI­A­TION AN­NOUNCES NEW BOARD

The gen­eral assem­bly of the syn­di­cate of advertising in Le­banon an­nounced the elec­tion of a new board as such; Pres­i­dent, Mr. Ge­orge Jab­bour, Vice Pres­i­dent, Mrs. Ca­role Hayek, Sec­re­tary, Mr. Joe Ay­ache, Trea­surer, Mr. Claude Ha­j­jar and eight mem­bers to its board; Ms. Grace Sahy­oun, and Messrs. Alain Hochar, Alain Yazbeck, Fadi As­mar, Mazen Mous­sallem, Naji Bou­los, Serge Dagher and Wil­son Issa.

18. PLAY THE LOVE CARDS WITH VIR­GIN MEGA­S­TORE

This year, Valen­tine’s Day brought re­flec­tions of the past, present and fu­ture as Vir­gin Mega­s­tore threw an early Valen­tine themed evening at its Opera branch, hosted by Tarot card reader Aghy and in the pres­ence of the lo­cal media, blog­gers and in­flu­encers. #Playth­elove­card night gave the at­ten­dees the chance to have a re­flec­tion of their past and a glimpse into their fu­ture in a 10 minute one-on-one tarot read­ing ses­sion. Dur­ing the event, a spe­cial pro­gram was set to en­ter­tain the at­ten­dees; a photo-booth with the tal­ented pho­tog­ra­pher Fi­ras She­habed­dine, a ma­gi­cian per­form­ing some tricks us­ing the cards, and a spe­cial Valen­tine buf­fet. At the end of the event, Vir­gin Me­ga­s­tores handed all the in­vi­tees a sou­venir of love cards, Vir­gin Mega­s­tore play­ing cards & some de­li­cious Su­gar­pova candies.

19. NE­JMEH SQUARE IN BEIRUT GOES GREEN FOR IRE­LAND’S NA­TIONAL DAY

The city of Beirut, Le­banon has joined Ire­land’s global green­ing ini­tia­tive for the first time ever this year. Ne­jmeh Square, also known as Place de l’etoile, lo­cated in the heart of the city cen­tre was lit up an emer­ald green sig­ni­fy­ing Ire­land and Le­banon’s sol­i­dar­ity and friend­ship. The Ir­ish Con­sulate in Beirut and the Ir­ish Em­bassy in Cairo or­ga­nized the green­ing event in part­ner­ship with the Mayor of Beirut. The green­ing cel­e­brates the role in which Ir­ish peace­keep­ers serv­ing with UNIFIL played in pro­tect­ing Le­banon dur­ing decades of con­flict, in restor­ing peace and sta­bil­ity to Le­banon and in forg­ing the bonds of friend­ship that unite the two coun­tries.

20. SPAR OPENS IN NA­BATIYEH!

Un­der the pa­tron­age of His Ex­cel­lency speaker of the Le­banese Par­lia­ment, Nabih Berri, and rep­re­sented by his wife Mrs. Randa Assi Berri, Spar proudly launched their sec­ond lo­ca­tion in Le­banon, in Na­batiyeh. An of­fi­cial rib­bon cut­ting cer­e­mony was held on March the 7th at the state-of-the-art 2,400 square me­ter Na­batiyeh store, where Mrs. Berri, SPAR man­age­ment, key mem­bers of the civic and busi­ness com­mu­nity, of­fi­cials and the press gath­ered to celebrate the great ad­di­tion to the South.
