16. ABC GROUP AND THE CCCL ORGANIZE FIRST KIDS FASHION SHOW
On March 14, 2015, ABC Group and the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL) held the first fashion show for the kids of the center and the children of ABC Achrafieh mall’s customers. Walking the runway like superstars, the kids showcased the latest fashion trends in the two-hour event, raising awareness on childhood cancers and eliciting moral and financial support from an avid audience with whom the kids’ message of resilience and hope resonated.
17. ADVERTISING AGENCIES ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD
The general assembly of the syndicate of advertising in Lebanon announced the election of a new board as such; President, Mr. George Jabbour, Vice President, Mrs. Carole Hayek, Secretary, Mr. Joe Ayache, Treasurer, Mr. Claude Hajjar and eight members to its board; Ms. Grace Sahyoun, and Messrs. Alain Hochar, Alain Yazbeck, Fadi Asmar, Mazen Moussallem, Naji Boulos, Serge Dagher and Wilson Issa.
18. PLAY THE LOVE CARDS WITH VIRGIN MEGASTORE
This year, Valentine’s Day brought reflections of the past, present and future as Virgin Megastore threw an early Valentine themed evening at its Opera branch, hosted by Tarot card reader Aghy and in the presence of the local media, bloggers and influencers. #Playthelovecard night gave the attendees the chance to have a reflection of their past and a glimpse into their future in a 10 minute one-on-one tarot reading session. During the event, a special program was set to entertain the attendees; a photo-booth with the talented photographer Firas Shehabeddine, a magician performing some tricks using the cards, and a special Valentine buffet. At the end of the event, Virgin Megastores handed all the invitees a souvenir of love cards, Virgin Megastore playing cards & some delicious Sugarpova candies.
19. NEJMEH SQUARE IN BEIRUT GOES GREEN FOR IRELAND’S NATIONAL DAY
The city of Beirut, Lebanon has joined Ireland’s global greening initiative for the first time ever this year. Nejmeh Square, also known as Place de l’etoile, located in the heart of the city centre was lit up an emerald green signifying Ireland and Lebanon’s solidarity and friendship. The Irish Consulate in Beirut and the Irish Embassy in Cairo organized the greening event in partnership with the Mayor of Beirut. The greening celebrates the role in which Irish peacekeepers serving with UNIFIL played in protecting Lebanon during decades of conflict, in restoring peace and stability to Lebanon and in forging the bonds of friendship that unite the two countries.
20. SPAR OPENS IN NABATIYEH!
Under the patronage of His Excellency speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, and represented by his wife Mrs. Randa Assi Berri, Spar proudly launched their second location in Lebanon, in Nabatiyeh. An official ribbon cutting ceremony was held on March the 7th at the state-of-the-art 2,400 square meter Nabatiyeh store, where Mrs. Berri, SPAR management, key members of the civic and business community, officials and the press gathered to celebrate the great addition to the South.
