PROJECT REAL WAY
Your how-to guide for wearing the tricky F/W ’15 trends.
Every year, designers’ Fall shows continue to inspire, excite, and well – weird us out a little, too; and this season was not shy to tread into unfamiliar territories. Here’s your guide to mastering the difficult runway looks, the real way. Every winter runway has tons of fur coats and stoles, but this year, fur accents were isolated in an unusual place – sleeves and cuffs. From the super-fluffy forearm-length cuffs at Céline to the full-arm fur sleeves at Joseph, luxe sleeve and cuff accents dominated outerwear trends for 2015. Choose your jacket carefully, however – you don’t want to end up looking like Big Foot. Shop for a fur-sleeved jacket in luxurious and heavy wool with tailored details like a belt that shows off your waist. The ultra-mini is back, apparently – Marc Jacobs, Roland Mouret and Miu Miu all showed miles of leg in their shows. One of the most unique iterations of the miniskirt this season was designed by Moncler Gamme Rouge, a flared transparent mini worn over leggings and paired with a camo jacket and an equestrian-style helmet. Talk about daring! To wear the trend without looking like you have fashion schizophrenia, try this look with a basic tube skirt underneath in any color – it provides all the same visual impact but is about a hundred times more wearable.
