Empowering Cancer Patients Inside-out

Cancer treatment can really take a toll on a woman’s body image, transforming the way she sees herself and her confidence during this especially sensitive period. She loses her hair, her eyebrows, her eyelashes and her body is drastically affected by chemotherapy’s harsh side effects. In a culture where cancer is still taboo, women undergoing treatment fear being defined by their sickness and it affects their self-confidence when they don’t recognize the person looking back at them in the mirror. To make their journey easier and help them regain their self-confidence during treatment, Roula Karam Face Couture, One Wig Stand and L’oréal Levant have joined efforts to organize “Jamelik bi Ouwtik”. The event will provide patients with practical beauty and fashion tips under professional guidance while also shedding light on other valuable resources to empower them during this period. “Jamelik bi Ouwtik” aims to empower patients and shed a new light on how they may harness their inner strength in the face of a cancer diagnosis, reminding them that they are beautiful no matter what they may be going through.
