17. Sam­sung Re­ceives Largest Num­ber of Aw ards at IDEA 2015

Sam­sung Elec­tron­ics Co., Ltd., re­ceived the largest num­ber of awards at the In­ter­na­tional De­sign Ex­cel­lence Awards (IDEA) 2015, one of the world’s most pres­ti­gious de­sign com­pe­ti­tions. The eight awards in­clude one gold award, three sil­ver awards and four bronze awards. Founded in 1980 and or­ga­nized by the In­dus­trial De­sign­ers So­ci­ety of Amer­ica, IDEA is one of the most in­flu­en­tial de­sign com­pe­ti­tions rec­og­niz­ing cre­ative and in­no­va­tive de­signs. Sam­sung’s award win­ners for this year en­com­pass var­i­ous cat­e­gories rang­ing from home ap­pli­ances to mobile phone ac­ces­sories, such as the vir­tual re­al­ity head­set - the Gear VR. Other win­ners in­clude a dish­washer with new wa­ter spray­ing mech­a­nism, and the LED Flip Wal­let. All of th­ese prod­ucts show­case an in­no­va­tive as­pect of Sam­sung’s busi­ness.

18. Scud­e­ria Le­banon an­nounces the ar­rival of the 488 GTB in Le­banon

Scud­e­ria Le­banon s.a.l., the Of­fi­cial Fer­rari Im­porter in Le­banon, an­nounced the ar­rival of Fer­rari’s lat­est au­to­mo­tive in­no­va­tion, the 488 GTB, in the Le­banese mar­ket. In­tro­duced as the suc­ces­sor of the 458, the 488 GTB sets a new bench­mark in the sports cars seg­ment, with its first ever tur­bocharged V8 mid-rear en­gine pro­duc­ing an ex­hil­a­rat­ing 670 horse­power. The 488GTB in­tro­duces a new gen­er­a­tion of ve­hi­cle dy­nam­ics and con­trols, as well as the high­est aero­dy­nam­ics ef­fi­ciency along with rev­o­lu­tion­ary de­sign and en­gine de­vel­op­ment, all crafted to form the most ex­hil­a­rat­ing ex­pe­ri­ence for ev­ery level of driv­ing skills and de­liv­er­ing track level re­spon­sive­ness and con­trol.

19. The Span­ish Em­bassy merges cul­ture and Fash­ion in Beirut

The Span­ish Em­bassy in Le­banon hosted its first Span­ish Re­union on Septem­ber 16, 2015 at The Garten in Beirut, with the aim of pro­mot­ing cul­tural links be­tween Spain and Le­banon. Un­der the pa­tron­age of Her Excellency Milagros Hernando, the Span­ish Am­bas­sador to Le­banon, the re­union was hosted in part­ner­ship with lead­ing Span­ish brands present in the lo­cal mar­ket. Brands in­clud­ing Ber­shka, Corte­fiel, Desigual, Dou­ble Agent, May­oral, Punt Roma, Spring­field, Stradi­var­ius and Women’s Se­cret were on board to bring to­gether two coun­tries, which are sim­i­lar in many ways. The ur­ban life­styles and the cul­tural affin­ity were dom­i­nant through the setup, dress code, mu­sic and var­i­ous el­e­ments at the event, which was or­ga­nized by Tarte aux Poires.
