LMPS end losing streak
LMPS registered their second victory in 12 Vodacom Premier League matches on Sunday, beating Sundawana 2-1 at PTC Ground to end a forgettable run of form.
The win moved the police outfit one place up the 14-team table, with just one match to go before the end of the first round of the 2014/15 football season.
The weekend results also saw Qoaling Highlanders sink to the bottom of the table despite a oneall draw against third-placed army side LDF in Qoaling on Saturday.
The previous day, Highlanders had suspended head-coach Wright Mofoka, for the team’s poor results.
Mofoka led Highlanders to numerous trophies in the A Division before guiding the Qoaling-based side to topflight football three seasons ago.
However, the team has struggled to cope with the rigours of topflight football this season, leading to Mofoka’s suspension.
Meanwhile, Lioli cruised to a 2-1 win over Kick4Life at old europa on Saturday to maintain pole position on the table, with 28 points from 11 matches.
Lioli are still two games behind most of the teams and are set to end the first round fixtures safely atop the log, as second-placed Bantu have already completed their first round fixtures and accumulated 27 points.
Tšepo Lekhooana and Basia Makepe were on target to hand Lioli their ninth win of the campaign.
